Archived Content
Use Site Settings > Archived Content to review files and folders that were archived instead of deleted.
Archived content is hidden from normal Site browsing. The underlying content record and file artifacts remain available so governed evidence, citations, and audit references can continue to resolve.
When Archived Content Appears
The Archived Content menu appears when:
- the Site is configured to archive content instead of deleting it
- organization policy requires content archiving
- the Site already has archived content
What You Can Do
Archived Content lets Site administrators:
- review archived files and folders
- restore one item or many items
- choose the destination for restored content
- restore items back to the original location when that location is still available
Archived items are not opened from this view. Restore them first when they need to return to normal Site access.
Archive vs. Recently Deleted
Archived Content is for retained content that is removed from normal view but preserved for governance and restoration.
Recently Deleted is for ordinary deletion recovery where deletion is allowed. Recently Deleted may still appear for Sites that allow deletion, or when deleted items existed before policy changed.
