Site AI Settings
Use Site Settings > AI to decide which governed AI capabilities are available inside a specific Site.
Site AI settings are for workspace-level control. They help you keep AI grounded in the right approved documents, expose MCP only where it is intended, and apply tighter limits to sensitive Sites.
Who Can Manage Site AI Settings
You need Site-level administrative access to change these settings.
Available Site-Level Controls
The Site AI settings currently include controls for:
- AI Chat
- AI document summaries
- AI enhanced search
- MCP access
- Use credits for third-party AI access
What Each Setting Does
AI Chat
Turn this on when users in the Site should be able to ask cited, permission-aware questions against that Site's approved documents.
AI Document Summaries
Turn this on when users should see generated document summaries in supported viewers and file experiences.
AI Enhanced Search
Turn this on when the Site should support semantic or hybrid retrieval beyond exact keyword matching.
MCP Access
Turn this on only for Sites that should be reachable through approved MCP integrations.
This is a good way to keep external assistant access limited to the workspaces that truly need it.
Use Credits for Third-Party AI Access
Where supported in your environment, this setting controls whether the Site can use Clear Ideas credits for approved third-party AI activity tied to that Site.
Use it carefully in Sites where cost allocation or external AI access needs tighter control.
How Site AI Settings Interact With Other Controls
Site AI settings are downstream controls. They can narrow access, but they cannot enable a capability that is already blocked at the organization or account level.
The practical order is:
- Organization policy
- Account AI settings
- Site AI settings
Dependencies
AI features rely on the Site's approved content being available for retrieval and indexing.

Recommended Uses
Use Site AI settings to:
- enable governed AI only in the workspaces that need it
- keep MCP limited to selected Sites
- support cited answers over approved documents
- apply different AI controls across diligence rooms, board Sites, client portals, and internal workspaces
