Profile Settings

Manage your personal profile information to control how you appear to other users throughout Clear Ideas. Access these settings through Settings > Profile.

Display Name

Your display name is how other users see you throughout the application. This name appears in:

  • Site member lists
  • File sharing notifications
  • Collaboration contexts
  • User mentions and references
  • Activity logs and audit trails

Update Display Name: Navigate to Settings > Profile and enter your preferred display name in the Display Name field.

Requirements:

  • Display name is required and cannot be empty
  • Maximum length: 50 characters
  • Cannot be the same as your email address
  • Must contain at least 2 visible characters

The display name can be changed at any time and will update across all sites and contexts where you are referenced. Changes take effect immediately.

Account Name

Your account name represents your account identity and may be used in administrative contexts and account management.

Update Account Name: Enter your account name in the Account Name field on the Profile Settings page.

Requirements:

  • Account name is required and cannot be empty
  • Maximum length: 100 characters
  • Used for account identification and administrative purposes

Updating Your Profile

To update your profile information:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Profile
  2. Review your current display name and account name
  3. Edit either field as needed
  4. Click Update Profile to save your changes
  5. Your changes are saved immediately and reflected across the application

Note: Profile updates require an active internet connection. If you encounter any issues updating your profile, ensure you're connected to the internet and try again.

Consistency: Use a consistent display name across all your collaboration spaces to help others recognize you easily.

Professionalism: Choose display names that are appropriate for professional collaboration contexts.

Privacy: Your display name is visible to other users, so consider privacy implications when choosing a name.

Updates: Changes to your profile take effect immediately across all sites and contexts.
