Importing & Exporting
In the Clear Ideas App, archives play a crucial role in data management and document organization. There are two primary ways to interact with archives: uploading and unzipping Zip files, and exporting a site.
Uploading and Unzipping a Zip File
Users can manage archives by uploading Zip files to a site and utilizing the "Request Unzip" feature. This process efficiently organizes and integrates the files and folders contained in the Zip file into the designated site. This method is ideal for importing structured data swiftly and maintaining organizational consistency within the platform.
Supported Formats:
- ZIP - .zip (application/zip)
Exporting a Site
Another valuable way to work with archives is through exporting a site. This process is initiated via the site settings, where users can request an export. Once completed, the user receives a notification. The export operation compresses all files and folders from the site into a single Zip file. This file is securely placed in a special directory accessible only to site owners and administrators, ensuring data security and integrity. Each export is timestamped, providing a reliable snapshot of the site's contents at a particular moment, which can be invaluable for record-keeping and auditing purposes.
Both methods of interacting with archives support robust data management strategies, facilitating efficient content import and export while maintaining structured organization and security.
